quake3 software package provides Quake III Arena menu entry and launcher scripts, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install quake3
quake3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the quake3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep quake3 *
You will get with quake3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
